I’m sure Cookie won’t be letting anyone get ahead of themselves, the job is still massive.

This might well be the bad run but with good results. We were lucky against PS, terrible against Darlington and CA were the better team last night, the win hinged on Zach's save then us coming up the other end and Danny scoring. Our good run will come when we're winning at a canter Wink

CA weren’t the better team last night.  To their credit they came to play football, and cut us apart with one move in the 7th minute, but otherwise we did a great job on them.

Game of opinions.

On Saturday I watched Darlington defend a lead for 85 minutes and thought to myself that we'd never looked like being able to do that all season, then lo and behold the game was playing out like that last night with Curzon having more and more of the ball in our half. I always felt that a goal was coming. They're a good side and always have been, beating us regularly. They've evolved into a better side and will probably be up there in the playoffs. Manchester's third team Wink

We’ll just have to agree to differ on last night :-)

On reflection, I reckon Darlo might be sleepwalking into trouble. They’ve got good players, but look so defensive.  That thread you highlighted indicated their fans are worried about their lack of goals, and Gowling seems to be a very defensively-minded coach.  I can see them getting relegated through not being attack-minded enough.

Curzon had 66% of possession last night and made a huge 558 passes of which 470 were successful. We only made 279 passes of which 207 were successful. That is why I think Neil thinks they were the better team, but they did very little with the ball. They had 10 shots, just 2 of which were on target with an xG of 0.9. They only had 3 serious chances though the 2 directly before we scored our first 2 and another which I'd forgotten because it was a poor shot straight into Jeacock's arms but looking back at it he should have done much better. We had 11 shots, 6 on target and the xG was 1.49. We had 4 good chances and scored from 3 of them and then another couple which were 0.1 on the xG. Maybe on another night if we allow them that much of the ball they would punish us and if they convert the first real chance of the game then we might have lost. It's like I said the other day though a game of football can often be won/lost on small margins, but despite them having a lot of the ball I always thought we looked fairly comfortable last night after we scored 1st.

Ultimately, it’s very rare for the better team on the night to lose 3-0!

Makes me think of Dave Mogg's debut in 1990 when Gravesend and Northfleet absolutely battered us but we won 3-0  https://www.flickr.com/photos/tigerimage...003454244/
