Looks like they are accepting upcoming relegation and clearing the decks. Sad to see really but it’s not looking good.

This has Alex written all over it yet again. Yet another shocking decision and it looks like we are fully accepting relegation as getting rid of one of our best players hardly says we are trying to stay up to the players that remain.

He was non contract and wouldn’t have been paid through injury. Yes the trust was contributing towards him specifically.

Probably because he’s been injured for a while, will be out for at least 4 weeks, and by the time he’s match fit again there won’t be too many games left and that money could be better invested in other areas of the squad, I’d guess, but we’d need to hear MC reasoning at the same time as the announcement.
Spence has been a rock since returning from injury and BRE (bar distribution) wasn’t that much better imo, and I suspect BRE was earning a very healthy wage.

As explained by Matty though he was non contract so whilst not playing he wasn't costing us anything at all. Give me BRE over Spencer any day of the week although both playing together is probably the best we could hope for at the moment. I don't think this was Cook's decision at all.

BRE has tweeted to say he’ll be back in 3/4 weeks, so best case scenario he’d be available still for the final 10 games. Is 10 games left the cut off to accept relegation then?

I’m going to be holding my breath that his wage will be reinvested.
