Supporter Rep meeting tonight
#1

Trust chair Robin Mogg is this evening meeting with the club’s new general manager, Jay Marriott.

After having consulted fans, Robin will raise the following issues:

• clarification on the ownership of the club
• facilities for disabled fans at NMP
• next season’s shirt colour
• the provision at the ground of a lost property box

He will also have a general discussion about the fan experience on match days, following last week’s incident.

Robin said: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet with Jay to discuss issues that are important for fans and hope this is the beginning of a positive and productive relationship between the Trust and the club.”

The Trust, which is affiliated to the Football Supporters’ Association, has this week welcomed ten new members, bringing the total to 89 – around 10% of our average gate.

Robin added: “There’s never been a more important time for fans to have their say in the running in the club. You can join us here: https://gcafcsupporters.co.uk/signup/

Was the meeting that productive there is nothing to share? Was Robin that disgusted he drank himself into a stupor and can't remember what was said? Had everyone been sworn to secrecy? Are the notes being shipped to President Biden's house in Wilmington, DE to be placed in the boxes with his other classified documents next to his Corvette?

That's it Heath. That's similar to my questioning on the match day thread. How are you feeling in your tin foil hat? Mine's getting rather warm. It maybe time to start stockpiling and dig a big hole.

Robin is sharing the outcome with the board tomorrow as we have a Trust board meeting planned anyway - suffice to say it was a positive meeting.

In all honesty I don’t expect this to ever happen under the current owners, only possibility I can see is if there was a united front from the large majority who don’t recognise red and yellow we could demand a supporter vote on colours which we didn’t get in 2019. Unfortunately that would mean recognising that a mistake happened, and that’s the hardest bit. I don’t think the opposition is about the colours it’s about accepting responsibility for making a mistake.

Whatever happens with the ownership I believe that Eamonn will still be at the helm whether he wants to or not. He wanted the red kits so they're here to stay.

I'd personally have no real issue going back to Y&B, although my actual preference would be for predominantly yellow with equal representation for both red and black.

One thing I do think the club needs yo be wary of is not alienating fans lime they did with the last change. Clearly moving from Y&B upset a lot of fans, and I think it's also fair to say a number of fans now identify with R&Y.

The key for me is that any change is dealt by taking all of that into account, and as collaboratively as possible.
