I would add plenty of caution over this though because clearly who goes up and down is open to a lot of change and they could decide to move a club like Hendon back to the Isthmian and stick us into the Central instead. As we know the FA can make some interesting decisions.

Chris Warrior sent me that map before Xmas. Big Grin

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Another example of how much it could change is if Taunton went down instead of Welling that would mean someone else going to the Isthmian instead of Welling and Taunton would go to the SLS. With 4 divisions it is a lot harder trying to predict who goes where and as a club on a boundary we are always a club who could end up in one of 2 divisions.

Accepting that relegation can't be avoided and if we are looking to bounce back in one season, which of the two divisions would be the easier to get promotion from? Not that we'd have a choice.

I think this season the top end of the south is much stronger but there might be a bit more depth to the central although the bottom two sides have been relegated for ages. Depending on who goes up the south might be the weaker next season.

Now that relegation is confirmed does anyone know how and when the decision as to whether we'll be in the southern or central division will be decided? Am assuming it may have some bearing on squad recruitment.

Pretty sure all the leagues are confirmed at the same time so we’re looking at June for that.

However, it’s about 95% likely we’ll go Southern South, which I think is a lot better for us.

Yes all done at the same time and it happens in June by the FA. I’d say its still up in the air a bit depending on movements but South looks the most likely at the moment.

looking at those maps again, if we're in the Midland division it's M5 north every time bar Banbury. Our closest games in the South are Hungryford, Frome and Merthyr.

If it's Central we can pay our respects to Tim Flowers at Bromsgrove Sporting  - on current form they'd probably beat us.
