Taunton / Truro / Plymouth Parkway

It wasn't said if it wa just Truro or indeed Taunton but with their fixture pile up its a viable option.

I believe today was a test and it looks like it passed for the game being on but screw the fans who have to travel meaning gate receipts would be low. Pay on the gate today no advance ticket sales.

An older chap collapsed on the pitchside railing right behind the goal and as some rushed to help I told the steward next to me who couldn't give a s#£% as it was the 93rd minute of 94 and they were hoping to finish ASAP. When they did bimble over the others from the rest of the ground just swung their umbrellas as they too bimbled down while both physios had sprinted across the pitch. Hope the chap is OK but looked quite serious.

Was very nice being the host club instead of the exiled club for once!
Enjoyable day and good game. Truro deserved their win and Tom Harrison played well. Crowd was around the 200ish mark.
Tiring day though, the things a number of volunteers do for this club! Well done to Truro and hopefully we did well out of it too.

There’s some volunteers who’d want paying for doing that for a neutral match where the ground’s been hired out so fair play to you

An enjoyable match deservedly won by Truro despite some fine saves by the Taunton keeper in the 1st half.

The Truro supporter who collapsed was attended to by the physios. An ambulance attended and he was assessed by them in our physio room. What the outcome was I do not know but I was told he made his way to the changing rooms under his own steam and there were a group of Truro fans waiting for him so he was not left alone. Whatever the outcome let's wish him well and a safe journey home.

As for the security team; I left the ground after 6.00 and they were still at the ground working.

I believe the crowd was 157. Good bit of singing from both sets of fans. Whether Truro return or not we'll have to see; I too heard the rumours but until they are substantiated they are just that, rumours.

The few fans I did speak with, and it was only a couple, seemed to enjoy their visit and commented favourably on the facilities, food and the welcome they received. It was nice to hear and hopefully the other visitors felt the same way.

Truro have posted on X that the supporter will be staying overnight at hospital

Bath managed to get their game against Slough called off because a supporter feinted and was fine. They were losing 4-2 at the time.

Yeovil and Maidstone will attract healthy crowds.
We don’t get the bar or food money from our own games so would be surprised if we did for today or any future Truro games.

We'll have to try that on the last game of the season if need be Wink

How does it work then? A percentage? Or Dave and Mike pay to provide the service?

Surely the whole point of running a football "business" is to maximize the customer spend for the benefit of the football club?

Sorry if I'm being naive here, genuine question.

From what I believe Dave and Mike have paid the club a fee to provide the service and then they take the profit. Dave claimed this made the club more money and meant they didn’t have to worry about staffing it etc, but let’s face it Dave and Mike aren’t going it out of the goodness of their heart and if they didn’t think they could make a profit after expenses then they wouldn’t be doing it. The fact we could be getting Yeovil would be a massive boost for their coffers but not ours apart from any rent Truro pay for the stadium.

It was a Slough fan as well. The ref wanted to continue the game and Bath refused to carry on.

The Truro fan is on his way back to Cornwell after being discharged.

Some very good news on the Truro X account; their supporter is out of hospital and on his way home.
