Cooky in or out
#1

Whatever league we are in next season, I want to know. Should Cooky be at the helm?, in my opinion he has had time to turn this team around and tbh he hasn't. I've heard a lot about its been out of his hands whose gone, but the players he has recruited haven't been up to this standard yet again. Is he really the man to get us back up if we go down. Surely I'm not the only one thinking this!!!

I have had my doubts this season, but if nothing else then for the sake of continuity I think we should stick with him. We have to get out of this cycle of sacking managers and constantly rebuilding, and put in place some long term plans even if it’s means going backwards to go forwards.

“There’s a mole. Right at the top of the circus. He’s been there for years.”

I’m sure many are thinking it, but personally I’d like to see him given a chance, with as clean a slate as he’s allowed by contracts, and a full pre-season. Can totally understand others disagreeing, but I don’t think he’s the problem.

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

It's nothing personal but this isn't working, we need a fresh start. Get Gary Johnson in if we can afford him else we'll end up with his Mexican non-union equivalent Sad

Mike should stay. Had MC been given the job at the start of the season and adequate funding to be competitive in NLN we would be in a different situation. He's set up as the fall guy but it's someone else who needs to realise it's time for them to move on.

It hasnt worked out as I expected, but there has been a lot of off field stuff which hasnt helped.
I Hope we stick with him,he knows the ins and outs  of the club, he wont be going into It blind and Will almost have the advantage of preparing for Next season before our new rivals Next season.
The fact he Will get a full pre season with his own signings or players retained can only be beneficial in my eyes.
Fed Up with a new manager every x months.

Same could be said about James Rowe, when he got his own players in,It didnt go bad.

People say Cookie brought in his own players, but its not the same in the summer as It is in Jan/feb.

Getting a new manager has proven an issue before as with SF, it seems to me that MC already has an eye on the SLP next season with signing Brain for one.
It may be taken out of MCs hands though given what's been going on at the club. The other issue is exactly what level budget would be set. The top clubs in the SLP have decent budgets I doubt we will.
A total reset is required but going down could well take 3 or 4 years to recover.
Being under the right ownership is key, AP and EM selling the club on will have taken a hit, the clubs value significantly reduced by relegation. Its time they realised that but I fear they wont and will hang on to the ground as an asset value.

I questioned getting rid of MC when there was still a realistic chance of avoiding the drop. At this moment, provided he wishes to stay, and unless there's an obvious far better option, I'd stick with him to start the season and recruit the players necessary for the next level.  The manager merrygoround of the past couple of years hasn't worked has it? I'd hope his professional pride will mean he's up for the challenge, otherwise his time with us can only be viewed as a failure.

It is a tricky one because clearly he's had players taken away from him by others decisions. The problem I have always had with him though is his tactics. I just don't think he's a man that would go and win you a league and that's why I would look elsewhere. If Alex is still here though I don't think he will be.

Maybe the budget for Next season has already been set? signing players like Brain now being in the NLN is easier than having a bidding war in the summer, Creed might also be an example of that with one eye on Next year.
