Scunthorpe tomorrow

I was just comparing the final table to last season. In my head we were unstoppable at times last season but we ‘only’ won 5 more games at home compared to this season.

We ‘only’ lost 5 more away games this season compared to last. I say ‘only’ as ultimately the dropped points add up but I didn’t realise how fine the margins were from last seasons play-off results to this season's relegation….especially when it feels like we’ve been losing every week this season!

Our points tally last season would have meant we finished in 12th this season. Did we just got lucky with everyone being inconsistent last season?!

Either way I’m just glad the season is over now!

There was almost as much inconsistency this season as there was last season. Look how close the playoff race was in the end. Chester were Top #4 at Christmas and nosedived; Hereford should have been there; Alfreton and Chorley both put together good runs that got them in the mix. The only truly consistent sides were Scunny and Tamworth.

We were significantly worse than last season and the table and statistics don’t lie.

Interesting to see Curzon Ashton in the play offs. Generally regarded as a minnow, and often tipped for relegation. They've built a good foothold in the league over the past few years.

What attendances are they getting now? I remember going there in their first season in the division and they only had a couple of hundred.

Did they hold the POS and YPOS awards ceremony after the game yesterday? If so, who won?

It’s on Tuesday night after the county cup final

Well that’s the league season over then, thank goodness. We ended up equalling our most losses in a league season in our history of 28. The concerns in the appointment of Flowers and the recruitment totally justified in the end, people aren’t always just being ‘negative’, we’ve all seen enough football here to know what’s what.

Hopefully we don’t have to endure a season like this for a long while, you’ve got to imagine that unless we stink the place out in the league below we should be in the hunt for something come the end of the season. It was such a nice day yesterday in terms of weather, it’d be great to be celebrating in the sunshine like the Chorley game.

We now move onto the County Cup, I reckon this couldn’t have come at a better time, if we can win that we can use it as a positive end to the season as we need to be bouncing back, or at least challenging to bounce back, immediately.

It's mad but strangely admirable! We totally outplayed them at NMP too, despite them having the second best away record in the league (they've won more away points than at home over the season).   They are officially averaging 400 in all home games thanks to the likes of Chester, Scunthorpe and cup games with Barnet and Macclesfield.  Most recent home gates in league matches include a healthy 621 against us, but more typically:  149 (Peterboro Sports), 225 (Alfreton), 233 (Brackley), 283 (Darlo) and 287 (Banbury).
They're away to Chorley on Tuesday. Good luck to them - be great to see them stuffing FGR next season.

Apologies to DaveAngel on turnstiles for visibly pissing him off due to my technological difficulties on my phone. Lets just say I now know there's a brightness button and I have seen the light.

Its a miracle!

And fair plays to the volunteer fag wielding steward who actually did something while other paid staff stood around. Good rugby tackle as well.
