Parachute candidates aren't generally looked upon too favourably by the public or indeed their own constituency party a lot of the time.
And that's my concern how can someone who hasn't grown up in the area or at least lived here for a fair amount of time. Understand or truly represent Gloucester. When it comes to key decisions I think they just vote the party line, regardless of the impact.

Anyhow back to football......

Labour and Tories both do it, yes. It's just strange that Labour do it in Gloucester every election whereas in other local seats they don't.

I seem to remember Richard Graham getting involved with helping to speed up the building of the new ground. Was that something to do with getting a phone mast moved?

I seem to remember something about that too.

Actually he seems to be a reasonable constituency MP and recently put out a very insightful newsletter about the problems in general practice, both locally and nationally, but unfortunately no real suggestions as to how to improve them.

shouldn't this thread be on the other half of the forum as it has a very tenuous link to the football and more about individuals political thoughts?

I agree, don’t we come here to get away from all that?

Apologies for any upsetance caused. I did wonder. Personally I've avoided the main"news" for the past 6 months and I've found life a bit more pleasurable. I've got the local news app for the football and occasionally take a skim through and the article just jumped out at me with City being mentioned. I really don't care who wins the coming election. If you are watching the news I guess it's going to be a long few weeks.Best of luck.
