Merthyr (A) NYD

Big game on Wednesday. They put five past W&H today and had a player sent off.

I think the best we can hope for is to come away with a point.

I fear you might be right, if Merthyr are on top form they could really do us some damage.

Fair play to Merthyr, went pop and started back at Step 10 and are already ahead of us in the pyramid and we’re hoping they won’t Roger us on NYD. #AmbitiousTigers

I hope I’m wrong. There’s nothing I’d like more than to spend the entire game on the back foot, having ~20% possession, and managing to knick an injury time winner with our only attempt on target………

They are a very attacking team, that must mean that there are gaps to be exploited. But with our team of walking footballers I don't think we'll be doing much gap exploiting.

They must have improved a hell of a lot from when we played them in August because I couldn't have seen them being as dominant as they have been on the back of that. Even if they do put 3/4 past us it won't be a disaster for our long term goal of getting in the play-offs.

To be fair to W&H, they had a player sent off after six  minutes and the Merthyr player wasn't sent off until about 75 minutes.

But to be honest I'll be more than happy if we come away with a point.

Also that Walton sending off was one of the worst decisions you will see on a football pitch

Agreed, think most are forgetting we did beat them 2-1 in August thanks to a Hanksy double. Though it was the last league game they lost, the other being against Walton, their opponents today, by the same scoreline too. Funny how stuff works out.

They've obviously improved, are comfortably the league leaders and form team, and they score goals for fun now. But any result isn't a disaster, out of 6 points this season we've already got 3 off 'em, so you know. Bit of positivity, they have another off day, maybe we get something.

3 points please. A loss is never acceptable, no matter who we play.

Just looked at Merthyrs last three games Yesterday again W&H they took the lead but it only lasted 4 mins.
Hungerford took the lead against them on Boxing Day and they equalised 26 mins later and against Poole it was Poole who scored first and it was 20 mins later they equalised.
What I’m trying to say is there is some fallibility so we have to be on the top of our game.
