I reckon once you get into the Southern League that stops being an advantage and you’re back on a level playing field, and a team of U23s would get battered. So I don’t see it happening.
Will be interesting.. at present looks like they are a sure bet for promotion to SL Div 1.  Some wily old ex part time pros operating in that league including the likes of Lewis Hall, Marlon Jackson and Matt Liddiard. But nothing to stop them recruiting the odd "post graduate" themselves if that's the way they want to go (and it is  literally a long way given the league currently stretches from Malvern to Mousehole - for clubs on the outer perimeter of the catchment area longer than any of the journeys in the Premier South!)

Some might say sour grapes, others will think he has a point. This on the ten year anniverary of the weekend that the fucking pointless bankrolled village team North Ferriby denied traditional non-league club Bath City a place in the FA Trophy Final at Wembley.

As they are leading the league too they seem to have earned the right

but as they aren't a traditional football club you can see why some might think they don't have the right.

What is a traditional football team? They bring in players, they play in a league with promotion and relegation on a Saturday afternoon with 'traditional teams'.

If they change their name to Staunton and Corse does that change things?

Every club starts somewhere, they entered the pyramid and have as much right as any other side to play in an FA Saturday competition. Most importantly more so than MK Dons.

People don't like change, bet they get behind the students who play for their clubs while they are at uni in the local area.

Good luck to them, a graduate of theirs started for Argyle today at Man City, is he not a footballer just like anyone else?

Sour grapes all round

What does this club do to run on a day to day basis? We are a traditional football club.

They are little more than students having a double games lesson.

Where do you stand on a club like Hashtag United? I'd say they are worse than a uni club.

What's the difference between Hartpury Uni FC and the likes of Met Police, Airbus or Vauxhall Motors?
