Next Season

Surely that was the feeling ahead of the playoff game at Brackley? I was disappointed that we lost but not that disappointed because it was quite obvious that that team would be broken up and we may well have had Patrick's XI that he signed competing in the National Premier.

Yeah but some of those teams also get promoted. You had Needham Market in the North this season for example. Most people going to home games couldn't care less if we were playing Tiverton or Buxton. Getting into the National League itself is where it makes the big difference.

I think we would have had a very different team because we would have had to. God knows what would have happened but I would have liked to have found out.

No team is ever ready to go up. We'd make ourselves ready if we win tomorrow though.

If we don't go up then we'll try to win this league next season.

We're in a good situation either way.

Take your chance when it comes, you don't know when the next time will arrive.

Bloody hell, you've got good eyesight!

Totally agree. And we may well may have done had Covid not happened. (Though without the Chesterfield deserters it was no longer a sure thing)

Well we know we're we are now.

Trying to keep things positive.

I think as long as we bring in a new proven manager and a few new players too freshen up the squad. This should enable us to push on from this years play off final defeat.

Plus if you look af our home attendances , it might not be a bad thing that we get to have another good season challenging at the right end of the table and continue to grow that number further.

And who knows next season might include an out and out striker in the starting XI and just maybe a PLAN B

Other than the goal, I thought it was an equal sided game. We certainly weren't outplayed.

Mention of MC's position. He took us to the playoff final. We could have won. Had Mike been able to get the players he tried to sign, we may have done better in the league, but think Merthyr would have still been top. So if Mike wants to stay, then he should. Obviously if he thinks he can do no more or gets an offer elsewhere, then that's up to him.

One thing that no one seems to have mentioned is compared to the mess of last season, the stability at the club this season has - at least to the average punter, been admirable. No behind the scenes shenanigans, so all to build on next season (budget provided).

I think there are a few issues team wise we need to address

Left back
Left wing
CF
CM to replace Dawson (I think Grubb could easily do this though)
