Manager

They wouldn't sack him. He is out of contract so it is a decision as to to whether to offer him a new one.

I can't think of anyone I'd rather be tasked with the decision than Colin Taylor.

There’s a lot to be said for stability and continuity, particularly after the shambles that was the ‘Petherham Years’. The Board have done a tremendous job correcting and resolving the problems that were left behind, and that includes assembling a half-decent squad and backing the manager.

You could make a reasonable argument for sticking with Cook and giving him one more season to achieve promotion. However, I’m leaning towards ‘rolling the dice’ so to speak and wanting a manager who will increase our chances of promotion.

I do though question the need for both McGregor and Brough . Brough appears just to verbal players on the pitch hence Ed Williams’s retort.  Whatever happens our opinions on here will have no bearing whatsoever.

Eds retort was to Mike

Someone else said in another thread which I agree with - one of the coaches should be a player-coach. At this level, I really don't see the benefit of having three senior coaches on the sidelines barking at the players.

Cookie doesn't think you will get much better, quote from his interview on Gloucestershirelive -

“I don’t think you are going to get much better with myself, Marc McGregor and John Brough with what we bring to the table, connections and network and thing like that."

But I agree it's costly resources and as to if City could spend those resources better I'm glad to say that is up to the board, as to if they have anyone in mind is anyone's guess. It does need sorting out pretty quickly though.

One thing I think we can all agree on - irrespective of which side of the fence you sit regarding Cook - is that a decision needs to be made swiftly. Dragging this out over the next couple of months will help no-one.

If we're looking at new managers, how about Chris Hill? He's done a tremendous job with the ladies team and most important, he's got badges!

You have got to be kidding!
I’m not doubting his qualifications but and it’s a big but he’s already Club Secretary, runs the women team.Does he want this?
he knows what side of the bread is buttered. It also depends of who from our present squad are loyal to MC or to the Club.

Agreed. It would be a HUGE leap from managing our ladies team to our first team!
