I thought Mike came across as a really good guy, and I generally liked the style of football he had the team playing, at least up to the penalty box, when suddenly everything seemed to grind to a halt.

If you look at the trajectory of our season, we were championship leaders until around December, contenders until January, had hopes of second until February, looked certain for third until March, and ended up fourth.  It’s like we had a slow puncture. I wonder if that sense of the air gradually going out of our season was a factor in seeking a change.

The slow puncture metaphor is very accurate. As the season progressed we ran out of steam.

I would have give you another season Cookie, football is a cruel sport. Thank you for your role in stabilising the club and bringing us within 90 minuted of promotion.

Bloody hell, you've got good eyesight!

We will know whether it was the right decision in 12 months. Difficult decision to make, and I can see pro's and cons for both sides, but one thing I will say is the any decision Colin makes will not be born out of ego, knee jerk reaction or wishing to micromanage. It will be for what he genuinely believes if the best for our Club, and that's enough for me to back him 100% whether it works or not.

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

I think everyone has been more than fair with their opinions about MC, thought Macca was excellent as coach, was never sure what John Broughs role was apart from hurling abuse.
We move on, depends who’s coming in I’d keep Macca as coach.
My only word of warning- be careful for what you wish for.
PS,
Daws has retired, is he a qualified coach? He works for the Chairman . Just asking.

Slow puncture - best analogy I've heard for some time.

Occasionally pumping back up for a few decent games before deflating again.

He’s moving up North, so won’t be involved in any way.
