Nepotistic bunch of privileged, privately educated, Latin speaking, pompous prats. If they were appointed on merit and not simply on the basis of backing Boris we might have stood a better chance. The guy can’t even keep track of what young-uns he has or what lies he has told, we can’t realistically expect him to be able to run a country so we should lower our expectations.

With all the good ground news, it is perhaps easy to forget everything that's going on. Some clubs are saying they can't compete in the fa Cup without fans to offset the costs. Home clubs pay away clubs travel costs. Prize money this year is reduced.

Just look at the sheer number of scenarios in this post by Tiverton Town. There are risks obviously if covid is to be controlled but I am not convinced that having a wetherspoons open is less of a risk than non league footie.

I am sure every one on here so wants to be at that first home game but it does seem a bit uncertain at the mo.

This is why the National League did the right thing and not starting until October when hopefully some people will be allowed in.

The FA have asked for Steps 3-6 to be allowed crowds from 15% rising to 30%. Not sure of the exact timeline of those but I would guess next month. The DCMS have agreed to the plans, but they are still waiting for a decision from above.

Crowds allowed back Step 2 and below is it? We are elite so still no decision.

Nothing has actually changed as that has always been the DCMS guidance. Also they have only said some fans can go which doesn't state max levels. Can't see anything changing for elite sport as October 1st is the date. Given Ireland have now said all sport must be behind closed doors again though you couldn't be certain that date will happen.

Fans will need to abide by social distancing rules, and spectator groups must be restricted to "discrete six-person gathering limits".
Meanwhile, organisers of events that are likely to attract a crowd will need to put forward a "named person or persons with responsibility for ensuring adherence with these guidelines and ensuring the facility is Covid-19 secure".
They would also need to publish a risk assessment limiting the number of spectators, and assist with the NHS Test and Trace scheme by collecting information from spectators.

How ironic that all these years avoiding relegation has now cost us the chance to watch City.......and for the club to earn match day income.

Just leave the gates open Alex

10 out of 10 for footballing zen
