This weekend

If you are thinking of travelling with the First team to FAC match you need to check out Club social media page.  To gain access to the sports complex hosting the game you'll need to register first and get a QR code.  There's an entry fee too.  Winner goes into 1st Round proper of the cup; that would be an historic first for us.  Our opponents are a tier below us but a very good side; this is a tough assignment.

The Reserves finally get a home game v AFC Brislington in the League.  Ko 2.  I'm unsure whether or not GCAFC are charging an admission for this game.  I suspect not but bring your pennies just in case!  It may be October but this is their first home league game of the season.

HISTORY IS MADE!!!

The First team advance to the FA Cup First round for the first time ever. Meanwhile the Reserves fine home league win is the first time ever our Reserves have won at Tier 6.

And that ladies and gents, boys and girls is a milestone weekend by any measure

City away to Portchester. Didn't the men play there in the FA Cup this year as well? What are the chances of that.

They won their last round match 19-0!

There was a certain inevitability that one of us was going to get Portchester!

Putting the FAC history to one side; AFC Portchester compete in Tier 5 on the pyramid which is the same level as us. They play in the Southern Premier while we are in the South West. Yes, they eased past a Tier 6 team in the last round (a side who have taken a few heavy defeats this season) and in the league they have a 2-0-1 record so far. On paper the 2 sides seem evenly matched. It promises to be an interesting contest.
