Hector Bellerin is joining Forest Green Rovers to become 2nd largest Shareholder. The Arsenal Defender became a vegan 3 years ago. Dale Vince is looking forward to working with him on projects at FGR.

There's a kind of link here with what (director) Steve does. FGR is carbon neutral, vegan, thoroughly right on and no doubt admirable in every way (and of course Dale Vince is said to be worth £100mn ++). Vince's impeccable credentials and jaw dropping wealth ensure that he's always in the public eye along with his village team and celebrity supporters. Meanwhile Steve in his self effacing way enables genuine carbon offsetting, and through his own generosity supports football in Gloucester, Rwanda and no doubt elsewhere. I for one would never want a vegan pork pie, nor a magnum of vegan red wine even if heavily subsidised. But I'd be happy to think that that a percentage of my ticket money/ bar bill goes to "Let's Plant" to enable GCFC to offset its own carbon footprint and help sponsor football in its home city and throughout the more disadvantaged areas of the world.
