Thought it was to good to get a bail out twice?Still if it can keep the club going until Christmas, things may change for the better,Hope fully???

Some national lottery winners will get free tickets to matches, once fans are allowed back in.

I don't like to read this. If the lottery money doesn't cover our expenditure then they must let us #letfansin to make our own money.

It always seems whenever something good happens to this club there's always something around the corner Sad

It all depends on how the money is distributed and also whether the National League gets a bigger slice than the North and South divisions. If, as was originally indicated, it's strictly based on last season's gate receipts, we'll be struggling as average attendances were the fourth lowest of the 66 teams involved. Hopefully Alex has persuaded the bureaucrats that we are a special case (which of course we are) or, perhaps better still, all teams are simply treated equally - giving everyone c.£150K each for the 3 months. Fingers crossed...

I hope I am wrong but can you really see all clubs in the three divisions getting equal share?
If it's based on past gates we are screwed and God only knows what the outcome will be.
We can only hope that APs special case has been accepted as that.........

This is a really difficult situation. If a small number of fans are let in, it has to be season ticket holders but financially, it must be better for the club for it not to be season tickets as that means no gate income

Presumably this lottery money means no fans for some time. It just doesn't feel right tho If 300 can watch games safely 3 leagues below, why can't 300 watch City matches.

Just on the costs, if 50 people turned up at the ground and paid a tenner to watch the match in the club, that would be the missing £500 meaning it could go ahead? Plus benefit of beers sold on top

There is no way the money could possibly be split equally as that wouldn't be fair. How could you give Notts County the same as Hungerford? Step 1 will get more money because they need more money and they have more clubs. I have read that the promoted sides will have factored in how much they will get how much their crowds figures will have gone up because they are at Step 1. I would take that to mean that we will have it factored in the fact we have gone back home. The key difference is the government were going to demand where their money went, now I would imagine it will be up to league.

As for letting fans in. I think we are moving in the opposite direction at the moment. The NPL were talking about having to stop the season soon given the lockdowns up north and as elite sport we would be able to carry on. As much as it saddens me to say we are months away from fans being allowed in.

I think it's unlikely that fans will be let in before March, when, hopefully, the infection rate will start to drop off.

Yes, I know the infection rate peaked in March / April this year, but that is because the pandemic only really took off in February. This winter it has started in September and should have a lower, longer peak if people do what they've been asked.

Thank you everyone, we've booked the hotel ... the players will travel up Friday after 'brunch' at the club.

Darran is correct on the grant, the £10m is from the lottery and it will be split by the NL ... the algorithm for this is still to be agreed ... of course I've made our case and I hope made it well ... but sadly clubs will be only looking out from themselves ... so we will see ... heard nothing yet ... The £10m is meant to cover clubs for the months of Oct, Nov and Dec ... with the hope fans will return in the New Year ... but who knows ... As Dr Bob says, the signs are great!

We've not even had the government backed bounce back loan at the club or the rates grant ... I've asked for government support, but heard very little ... Sadly some seem to want to help or try and help to suit a need/ purpose ... I just wish the need/ purpose was to help the club, not gain self recognition ...
