I have been looking at the various league tables on the Red Button Service. Its amazing the highs and lows that some Clubs have. I first noticed Braintree Town, they were recently in the National League, now bottom of National League South. 
   Other Clubs have had bigger rises/falls. Notts County now in National League once graced Old First Division Football. Remember them in the early 1990's hosting Arsenal, Liverpool etc That must be some ride for older Notts County Supporters to have been on.
    Stockport County had two seasons in the Championship, and have been in National League North. I went to watch Stockport at the old Wembley during the mid nineties. They played Burnley in a Playoff Final. I worked with somebody who originated from Stockport.
     In League 2, there are ex premier league Clubs Bolton, Oldham and Bradford. 
Rushden and Diamonds, once of League One, have reformed, now lower non league and a lower Capacity ground.
    I remember how dissapointed I felt when we got relegated from Southern League Premier in the late 1990's. The disappointments that these Supporters have had make our relegation look minor.

And Nottingham Forest have been in League one, after previously being Champions of England and Europe. And they are only out of the relegation zone it the Championship on points differences at the moment.

The person who I worked with was mainly a Manchester City Supporter. I went with him a few times during the 1990's to Maine Road. It was a ground I always liked, particularly liked the Kippax Stand that was rebuilt. Went to Newcastle United game in 1995/96, sat up in the Gods in the Kippax Stand, fantastic view. Think it finished 3-3. Newcastle had David Ginola, Les Ferdinand, Shaka Hislop etc. 
Manchester City went down to league one, and are now at a much higher level in every aspect.

I saw Man City play Swindon in League One at Maine Road, on a swamp of a day. At the time my local side, Stockport, were in a higher league. Saw Tim Flowers play for them.

One that stands out for me in more local terms is Worcester City, I think they play in the Midland Combination currently placed below other clubs that City have played in recent years including Stourport Swifts, Gresley Rovers, and Racing Club Warwick.

These tales are what makes our football system so good. I'm sure there are some big clubs that would like no relegation from the Premier League.
