I've always thought it was a problem when supporters get too close to those upstairs and the running of the club; I guess it can't be helped being such a small club though. There was a time when the Trust was formed that I asked the then Chairman if the Trust could actually run the club. The answer was a resounding NO!

I respect what you, Steve & Eamonn are doing and will look forward to having my club to support when and if this dreadful virus is ever beaten and we can return to normal life.

And isn't there some saying about the best way to become a Millionaire like start as a Billionaire and buy a football club?!!

You're made a good point and the below isn't aimed at you.....

People say things like 'no doubt we'll get something' all the time to me..... but the facts are they are just guessing ..... if we don't what then? Or if we get say £20k..... what then? I just keep on pumping in cash yea...? Oh and building a ground at the same time with rising cost as the world has gone mad! With the FSIF currently not funding there part .... theses are the current facts I'm dealing with....

And when will this cash land from the PL .... tomorrow? May? June? Everything is guessing...

It's easy for people to sit here and guess.... that's 100% why clubs are selling season tickets now, clubs/ people will do anything to raise money.

What I find funny about football, is fans quote facts to me about games, goals, league tables, points, managers runs etc.... they even projected worst case league table and shout "we're relegated" at Christmas ..... yet when it comes to things like money, they live in a dream world, guessing at the best case...

It's back to that word again ..... "hope"

My reading of it was it is money that will go to every club and I read today that the PL are making the payment this month. Hopefully that means we will get it soon enough. What should be added is that this isn't an extra payment, but just one that was going to be made in August anyway.

My point about season tickets is that a club like South Shields are doing. Now South Shields have spent big money rising up the leagues and are semi full time as well. Very odd isn't it how they suddenly need so much money when something like this happens. They of course are also the ones kicking up the big fuss about their season being voided because of all the money they have spent.

Hi Darren,

The PL money you're talking about isn't what it's cracked up to be. Remember, paper doesn't refuse ink. It's NEXT seasons sponsorship payment (which we would have got regardless in September ish) and bring it forward 6 months. So this magical £125m is in fact, zero.

Having read some of the Gloucestershire live headlines over the past 12months about me and the club, if only they could spin a story in this direction... taking a negative or at best a nothing story and making it a massive positive...

I did mention that it was a payment that was due in August anyway in my post and that was highlighted in the Non League Paper

But what everyone fails to understand is this is like my kids spending there Birthday money 6 months early... it's got nothing to do with anything. It's just a non point that should never have made the news.... now fans up and down the country think clubs are getting something for the current issues.

Not sure who is failing to understand it to be honest. Seems pretty clear to me and I can see why it got a mention because it is money that is needed asap rather than waiting until August. It would be nice if there was an extra payment though and one which went to clubs below us. I think we could see a few clubs going out of business to be honest.
