According to today's Telegraph the decision has been taken by the RFU.
There will be no relegation from the Premiership for several years due to the plan to increase the size of the league to thirteen teams next season and so on. The excuse given is that the league is meaningless this season due to Covid match cancellations - they seem to cancel, rather than postpone and re-arrange.
So, unfortunately, our 'friends' at Kingsholm won't be relegated even if, as expected, they finish bottom of the league.
Perhaps the TV money doesn't talk all that loudly?

Thank god. It's been an awful to watch since Skivington took over, but this announcement means we should be able to build something. He's started to build his own team, he's rated very highly as a coach. Just need the results to follow on the pitch (although he was the wrong appointment to begin with).
There's talk of upping the Prem to 14 teams and then ring-fencing it for 2 seasons, looks like this could be the start.

I think perhaps the TV money does talk sometimes. A Friday night 'covidfree' game at Kingsholm under the lights with 13000 screaming partisans makes for a very attractive (to the TV folk) proposition. I don't think TV would relish the prospect of losing that at all. Hence there must be no chance of relegation for Gloucester.
But I don't think Glaws will finish bottom of the pile anyway!
