It's been coming.... Finally certain clubs have publicly announced that they put money before fans,Hope this doesn't happen but I worry it could, throwing away so much history and values of what football is really about.
Hopefully people will start to follow their local club more now knowing that real football still exists.

It will be a runaway success. Clubs won't be banned from their domestic leagues.
It's the big clubs that have the power, not the leagues or FA's.

Don’t agree Neil. Who actually cares about the European Cup now. Only shown on BT sport who outbid Sky. Haven’t watched a game for years. Only of interest to the finalists. It will go the same way as boxing. Pay to view if you are interested. Can remember my Dad enjoying his boxing on the BBC amateur and Professional now it only appears during the Olympics. Can’t see all those season ticket holders at Premier Clubs being able to afford them after all will it include their new competition at the same price for the season. Will these die hard super supporters have the bottle or money to say enough is enough.

I can't help but think this is just one massive bluff by the big clubs to try and get the reforms they want for the Champs League. As much as I hate the idea, and hope that it never sees the light of day, I actually don't blame the clubs, or to an extent understand it. They have a duty to look after their business, and even with the fan outcry it will almost certainly be good for business. I imagine it also got to a point where the fear of missing the boat drove some clubs to sign up. This comes down to the pretty much all the issues we have been seeing recently at all levels - governance. Whether its giving clubs no power at all, or all the power like in this case in pretty much comes down to a lack of proper oversight.
Makes you envy the fan ownership structure in Germany which has in effect stopped them from being able to sign up to this.

Unfortunately Neil's correct in saying it will be a huge success, but what will happen is the clubs who play in it will have such big income the premier League will become like la Liga or the Scottish prem where only 2 or 3 teams will ever win,I heard a team gets 80 million for winning the champions but all teams in this new League will get 400 million just for being in it.

Clubs still intend to remain in the Premier and will obviously use this league as a reserve league for up and coming players and injury returnees. Armchair premier watchers will no longer be able to see the creme de la creme players as they will be playing mid week in the Super League. It will obviously give more places to better players but will have a detrimental effect on the lower leagues. I saw the interview with the Wolves guy who welcomed it as it will give the middle order clubs chance of winning the Premier but that will not add up as the billions on offer will still allow the super clubs to purchase the best and dominate the League much like the FA cup where they roll the dice until the semis when the big gun players arrive.
It will be nice to welcome the disillusioned to non league soccer.
