11th November 1989.

Wishing former GCAFC fullback Tom Parrinello a Very Happy Birthday. Tom was signed by David Mehew from Weston Super Mare. Tom was with us for just one season.
WSM must have liked us, because we also signed Mike Green and Darren Mullings.

12th November 1994.

    Corby Town 0 - 6 Gloucester City

This was about my third away game that I had been to Supporting GCAFC, having started to support the Club at the start of this year. I went on the Supporters Coach to this match, I think Corby Town this season were the whipping boys of the league.
The game was played at the athletics stadium, which is adjoined to the ground where they play now. The game was played in front of a crowd of 238. The goalscorers for City in this game were, Mark Hallam (3), Keith Knight, Dave Mitchell and Adie Harris.

What a great set of names on the scoresheet. Dave Mitchell scored plenty for us in the first half of that season, only spent the one year with us if I remember rightly.

14th November 2012.

On this Date, Gloucester City were involved in the FA Cup 1st Round Proper. We faced Leyton Orient of League One in a home tie (groundsharing at C********m Town). The game was played in front of a crowd of 1381, we played well against our London opponents, but ended up losing 2 - 0.
At the end of the match, I can remember walking out of the ground. Waiting outside was a young BBC Radio Gloucestershire Reporter asking supporters questions. He stopped me, I was answering his questions. Made me wonder when would be the next time that they report on us.

16th November 1991, we lost 2-3 at Vicarage Road Watford against Wealdstone. They'd sold their Lower Mead ground and bought a longish lease to play at Watford. I don't think it lasted long.

16th November 2013, we won 1-0 at Borehamwood in the FA Trophy. Their big centre half had been giving it large towards our bench and then played Connor Waldon in with a mishit backpass!

Wishing Gloucester City striker Matt McClure a Very Happy Birthday!!! The City Number 10 started last season in fantastic goalscoring form. He formed a brilliant strike partnership with Akwasi Asante, it reminded me of the Adie Mings / Dale Watkins strike partnership we had in the mid 1990's.

17th November 2020.

Also worth mentioning that this time last year, GCAFC were away to Hereford FC in the National League North. This Edgar Street encounter was played behind closed doors. City won 1 - 0, today's Birthday Boy Matt McClure scored the goal. In goal for Hereford FC was ex GCAFC loan goalkeeper Paul White.

Watched the stream, Asante missed a pen aswell.
MM goal came from the throw in routine flicked on by Daly,Hope LM brings it back now we will be strong in the air, used to work so well in the 90s aswell, Gary Thorne onto Chris Burns head and one of the midfield knocking it in, defenders hated it the T end loved it! Caused havoc

1989 - FAmous Cup win against Dorchester Town. Steve Talboys (R.I.P.) headed in Bunters cross.

2003 - we were winning 1-0 at home to Yate Town when the floodlights failed. Adie Harris didn't score.

2012 - a defeat against Chester at Whaddon on a Sunday. Of the crowd of 852 more than 500 were Chester fans.

2017 - a heavy defeat at Dartford. Jamie Edge scored for us with a wicked deflection. Massively underwhelming player.
