On this day

6th May 1967.

Today is former Gloucester City AFC right back, Alan Bird's Birthday. Alan Martin Bird, was Born in Chippenham.
Alan signed for City in 1994, from Trowbridge Town. He signed for City, along with a few other Trowbridge players, who made the same move. If that wasn't enough for Trowbridge, City appointed the Trowbridge manager, John Murphy, to become the New City manager as well.
Alan spent two seasons at Gloucester, making around 94 appearances, scoring 3 goals.
He then went onto sign for Worcester City.

He’s the exception that proves the rule imo showing you can step up to higher levels and succeed. I think he is a great asset. Able to play in several roles all to a good standard. HB.

He had one game where he set up two goals for Joe Hanks and I'd be surprised if he's had any more assists (in home games that I've seen at least), fully of energy and desire but needs more end product.
