If we aren't playing football until 2021 then we could be having issues like Alex says.

Fair points but as I have said on other threads it is these players only income and would you sign a six month contract ie 6 months of security no u wouldn’t you would want 18 months. I order to attract decent players a lengthy contract is part of the carrot dangled.  It is not that these players are local they are travelling hundreds of miles. Wages it is rumoured according to the NLP articles will be less next season but would anyone offer to take a £200 a week pay cut - don’t think so.

I never really saw the rush to sign these players up in January though as they probably would have all been available in May anyway. Players will have to get used to being paid less. I agree it is going to be tough on them, but clubs just aren't going to be able to afford the wages as they were anymore. I suspect there will be some good bargains to be had. It will be interesting as to when contracts will start though given we have no idea at this stage when the season will start. It is one reason I think the NL will be looking at a January re-start. If they said say September and then that became impossible you would have already signed up players and having to pay them without any games.

I think that the season will start but with huge restrictions and regulations, for example a ground can
Only have 30% of its capacity,2m distance etc,That will affect many clubs not only on atmosphere and potential earnings but maybe enough to keep things ticking over until we beat this.
But like everything and everyone,it’s just a guess.

How can you police that though? I think it would be impossible to make sure people stayed 2m apart and how would you know if people lived together or not? Would also screw us over as well as when we have our first game back in Gloucester we want as many people as possible.
Nothing will be policed,it will be the responsibility of everyone for their own health, problem? Asking people to be responsible....This is not only what I think will happen at football grounds but also shops, restaurants etc etc
Untill there is an actual solution the world will
have to adapt unfortunately.

If it can't be policed then it wont be allowed in my view. Shops and restaurants will be able to do it easier, but then restaurants could be in trouble as they might not be able to run as a business with a reduced capacity. How many people would be allowed in Meadow Park if everyone had to stay 2m apart? I think you would be lucky to get 300 in.

So nothing will never return then,Shops football grounds restaurants can control access, disagree that shops have it easier as people will be touching products etc as where a football ground is an open space and you don’t need to have any contact with anything.
Every problem has a solution.

Alex whats the deal with the shipping containers, I think you've said it'll be one on top of another or will it be two on top of two others or more? They had the bar in one at Flybe and it was a bit too cosy IIRC.

There’s a photo of the bar in the blog,I would take a guess that they will go behind the Brian/Eamon stands as it looks like there’s a space in that shape.

Alex-The side with no stand, will supporters be able to stand and watch the game from there or is it out of bounds?
cheers

If I may answer, the club bar is in the upstairs of the brick building in between the seated stands. Changing rooms etc below. Shipping containers will be double stacked behind Brian and Eamonn, with storage below, and the top ones being hospitality and office space.

The opposite side of the ground will be uncovered flat standing initially, like Evesham was. Certainly not out of bounds. Smile

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Yep as Mt Angel say...

The shipping containers will be stacked three high and three wide, so nine behind each stand (Brian and Eamonn). The bottom three on the Brian stand (nearest Submeadow Road) will be a store, a bin store and cycle shed for 32 bikes. The next row are lockers / changing area inc toilets for when the 3G is booked. So keep the players chaining rooms free and safe which are under the club house as Dave says. The top three will be fitted out as club offices / boxes if needed. The end goal is to glass front them, so they have pitch views. The same as Saltford City did, I stole the idea from them!

On the Eamonn stand the bottom three will be stores, the next three will be toilets, with the three on top fitted out as club offices / boxes if needed, again glass fronted.

I doubt this will be day one, as it's not critical, but that's the plan during the season. All depends on money...

We've a phase 2 I'd like to do if the first phase goes will and the clubs grows and develops ... which will be adding a stand on the open standing area on the opposite side and knocking down the club house and building a 'statement building' for the bar, corporate and changing rooms etc... but that could be 10 years away!

Cheers Dave, I remember the old bar being reasonably small but in the photos the bar has changed places and it looks a lot bigger space, have they knocked some walls through?

Ive seen what can be done with a shipping container so can’t wait to see them installed.

Brilliant Alex,Ive seen that sort of glass fronted
boxes/offices at other grounds and it looks so impressive and classy.
It’s funny because I bike shed would have been a waste of time before the floods but now with the heart of the City on the grounds doorstep
mans such a big student population nowadays
id take a bet they will be used regularly.

A football ground isn't an open space though. A park is an open space. If you have to stand/sit 2m apart from people in a ground you aren't fitting many people in. The bar would have to be closed. How are you going to police people using the toilets? How are you going to stop people from standing outside the ground trying to watch? You would have to have a new capacity for every ground to decide how many they were allowed in. Just imagine if a case could be traced back to a game. I would be pleasantly surprised if any football takes place in front of a crowd for the rest of the year.

Solutions have to be found for ALL sectors not just football,If not we just stay at home until a vaccine is created.
Anyway back on thread,What do you think about the ground?

There is every chance that at risk people will have to stay at home until a vaccine is created. Getting people going to sporting events again is hardly a priority and I just don't think it is very practical to say people will have to stand 2m apart in a football ground.

As for the ground it is typical Gloucester that as we are close to moving back home something gets in the way. Our first game home should have been a massive celebration with a big crowd, but you have to fear that will no longer happen.
