Having never been to a basketball match, other than to watch the Harlem Globetrotters when I was a teenager, I have a question to ask.

Is there an official with a stopwatch to time each phase of play?

Yes, there’s 3 in fact.

Maura Fitzpatrick (Irish passport American) has just been called up into the Ireland team for the euros, that’s another full international in our team Smile

Marlee Ball - 11PTS, 9REBS
What does REBS and STLS mean? I'm guessing ASTS is assists and PTS is how many points they scored?

REBS = Rebounds?

STLS = Steals?

Yep, I got the impression that she was decent. What was the full team on Saturday (with numbers) I'm trying to match the faces on the website but they're not all there.

And I'd still love to see my cousins daughter playing for the Queens. Hope there's still a chance Smile

Basketball is just like football … it’s all about how you set the budget … you have 10 on the game day roster … which football would call squad.

5 play at any one time … 5 fouls in a game and you’re off … not down to 4, but the fouled out player can’t play again.

Teams like London will have 10 big name players, but they will win the league and they are also doing well in Europe this season (football Champions League) … the next big teams are Newcastle, Leicester, Severn Oaks, Sheffield … so that’s the top 5. Then you’ve Cardiff, Oakland, Manchester and hopefully us … competing for the top 8 places … top 8 is the play offs … then we role the dice and see what’s written in the stars … but for us … our goal is top 8.

So … to complete the circle … London have 10 big names most full internationals … which is like having 16 in football ie a very strong bench. We’ve set our budget on a good starting 5, which inc top end internationals … so we need them all fit and playing … and not getting fouled out of games.

My son-in-law is a qualified basketball referee in the West of England League (at least I think it's called summat like that). Referees male, female,  and juniors at various times.

I watched New York Knicks play at Madison Square gardens,it was excellent, about 150€ for the worst seats next to the roof but it was well worth it,a real show and enjoyed it a lot more than watching the Miami dolphins in American football.
I would definitely check out a basketball game again as it's end to end and decent entertainment.
