NLN Watch

If we do pull off the impossible it’s surely got to be Banbury, Rushall and Farsley that finish below us. Farsley seem to be the only team in that pack above the relegation zone that have not had good form for a while.

That means winning all of our remaining games - or if it's 18 points, losing one of them...drowning men clutching at straws springs to mind, but stranger things have happened. The relegation calculator on the Grimsby site is quite useful for working out our chances:  https://thefishy.co.uk/calculator1.php (click on football calculator and select NLN)

Bishop's Stortford beat Banbury today, ending their NLN losing streak of 18 games on the trot.

Today's defeat means Banbury have now lost their last 10 NLN games in a row, and yet they're still a point above us.

Banbury lost again tonight. Is that 11 defeats in a row now? They're still above us Wink

Well, our season has been a complete disaster, but Blythe Spartans might be about to have a different type of nightmare - probably now favourites for the final relegation spot after being a couple of points off the playoffs in January.

Since they beat us in January, they’ve taken 9 points from 16 games which is a worse return than us. Just Scunthorpe and Brackley left to play so you’d probably back them to take the last relegation spot now

Farsley have got Peterborough (A), Darlington (A) and Buxton (H). I can’t see them getting anything more than a point out of those matches. They’re not out of it yet.
