Sachi was flagged off after she put the rebound in from Maggie's shot but if you look at the shadows on the ground she's clearly onside.



Then (despite the OOF photo) her shot has rebounded off of the bar and bounced over the line

Outside of the professional game where the refs watch doesn't go off it's a goal. The lino didn't flag because they are provided by either team.

Next season when the first team have 3 officials for games it would still need to be seen to be all over the whole line by either referee or the assistant.

In a time where VEO, photographers etc are an ever present the officials have to be absolutely confident not guessing.

Grassroots expects the same standard as the professional game but only have one official and then volunteers running the line, they would never be credible to give it and the referee wouldn't accept it anyway.

If there's criticism of the officials today then the ref barely moved out of the centre circle and the lino was supplied by the defending team so wouldn't have flagged had it been a foot over the line!
