The Anacreontic Song

By a composer associated with Gloucester.

That’s an anthem!

How about something from Handel?
"See, the conqu'ring hero comes!
Sound the trumpets, beat the drums.
Sports prepare, the laurel bring,
Songs of triumph to him sing."

How about Maggie May by Rod Stewart?

Replacing Maggie with City, I think some of the lyrics at the end of the song would already work perfectly well given the heartache we’ve had to endure at times, but we keep on coming back for more.

Just need to place the first 3 lines with something City related:

I suppose I could collect my books and get on back to school
Or steal my daddy's cue and make a living out of playing pool
Or find myself a rock 'n' roll band that needs a helping hand
Oh, City, I wished I'd never seen your face

You made a first-class fool out of me
But I'm as blind as a fool can be
You stole my heart, but I love you anyway

City, I wished I'd never seen your face
I'll get on back home one of these days
Ooh, ooh, ooh...
