Indeed. I can remember my Grandfather offering to take me to see City play Tottenham Hotspur in 1952, but Mum said I was too young (I was 8!). Grandfather went himself and told me all about it afterwards, City won 2-1 before a record crowd of over 10K. Later on though he was allowed to take me to Kingsholm, Longlevens Greyhound Stadium, and Prestbury Park.

Disappointed that the first stadium I was ever taken to was kingsholm to my shame ?
My dad being a Welshman loved ruby and took me to a game when I was about five or six to see a oxford uni team.All I remembered was sitting on my dads shoulders feeling freezing.
