Have they been blessed with a double promotion, Father? Smile

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Things look very different in Trstenik, especially after a dozen rakis.

At Kingy’s leaving event at the Sword it was said quite a few times by the coaching staff they had no interest in going there.

Interesting reading the forum for Eastbourne most don't seem at all keen on SK, despite it being his home team, strange that as with the money at their disposal I'd put a tenner on them going up if he was in charge.

Given what they are looking for based on the statement last night I’d be very surprised if it would be a job that would interest King. Quite a few Welling fans seemed to want him back so he might end up there.

The statement reads like a spoof but sadly is presumably a harbinger of things to come:-

"Moving forward we will have a more data driven approach to recruitment, preparation and analysis, using the latest AI technology, equipment and platforms to manage the performance and welfare of our players."

Tell that to Sir Alex!

AI is going to have loads of applications, those that don't look to embrace it in some form eventually are going to get left behind in my opinion. The mistake often made I think is that some people see stats/data/AI as a replacement for a human decision as opposed to augmenting the process and allowing a human to make a better decision.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is already being utilized in various ways within the realm of football (soccer), and its applications are likely to expand in the future. Here are some of the ways AI is currently being used and its potential future applications in football:

Player performance analysis: AI can analyze vast amounts of player data, including match statistics, fitness metrics, and video footage, to provide insights on individual and team performance. It can identify patterns, strengths, weaknesses, and suggest improvements in tactics and training regimes.
Match analysis and prediction: AI algorithms can analyze historical match data, team formations, player attributes, and other factors to predict outcomes, evaluate the probability of certain events occurring during a match, or offer tactical suggestions. This can be valuable for coaches, analysts, and even sports betting.
Injury prevention and rehabilitation: AI can assist in monitoring player fitness and workload, helping identify injury risks and optimizing training programs accordingly. Additionally, it can aid in designing personalized rehabilitation plans for injured players, monitoring progress, and minimizing the risk of re-injury.
Referee assistance: AI technologies such as video assistant referee (VAR) systems are already being used to help referees make more accurate decisions during matches. These systems use computer vision algorithms to analyze video footage and provide assistance in situations like offside calls or fouls.
Fan engagement and immersive experiences: AI-powered platforms and applications can enhance the fan experience by providing real-time statistics, personalized content, interactive games, and virtual reality (VR) experiences that bring fans closer to the action.
Training and simulation: AI can be used in virtual training environments to simulate game scenarios, allowing players to practice and refine their skills in a controlled setting. This can be particularly useful for decision-making and tactical awareness.
Scouting and talent identification: AI can assist in analyzing vast amounts of player data to identify talent, track player progress, and recommend potential recruits for teams. It can help clubs and scouts identify players who may have gone unnoticed otherwise.
Sports equipment and performance tracking: AI can be integrated into wearable devices and equipment used by players to track performance metrics such as speed, distance covered, heart rate, and more. This data can be analyzed to provide real-time feedback and improve training techniques.
It's important to note that while AI offers many benefits to the world of football, human expertise and judgment remain essential. AI should be seen as a tool that complements and assists human decision-making rather than replacing it entirely.
